Me 4.jpg

Hello

I thought it would be nice to share a bit more about me and my background.

I have a Diploma in Silver Jewellery with Distinction from the London Jewellery School where I built on the skills I already had and learned many new ones along the way.

My career started in retail and HR but in 2020 I decided to take a break to focus on making jewellery and I haven’t looked back!

Some random facts about me:

  • I’m obsessed with all things 80’s, especially the music

  • My favourite film is Ferris Buellers Day Off

  • I love spending time in Cornwall

  • My favourite season is Autumn

  • I love animals and spent 2 months in Borneo volunteering at an Orangutan rescue centre

Why am I called Wire & Wood Jewellery you might ask? I came up with the name in 2015 when I was making pieces of jewellery made from birch tree bark set in resin. I was fascinated with the way you could capture a tiny piece of nature to be treasured forever.

Although I don’t do this anymore the name stuck and I couldn’t part with it! A lot of my pieces are still nature inspired through the textures and gemstones I use.

I’m aiming to release a new collection every couple of months based around a particular gemstone so do sign up to my newsletter at the bottom of the page to keep up to date, and if there are any stones you’d like to see just let me know!

What I do

In short, everything! I design and make my jewellery from start to finish. From an initial idea and sketch, to cutting the metal, soldering, stone setting and polishing - I do the lot.

I source all the materials and gemstones I use from reputable and ethical suppliers. I only use precious metals (sterling silver and occasionally 9 carat gold) to ensure that your pieces stay beautiful and last forever.

I love sourcing unusual gemstones and creating individual and unique pieces. To me there’s nothing more exciting than taking a plain sheet of silver or length of wire, and turning it into something beautiful.

Here at Wire & Wood Jewellery I’m the designer, the maker, the packer, the marketer, the customer services assistant, the accountant and chief brew maker!

Why buy handmade?

How lovely is it to receive a gift that has been handmade with love from start to finish? A gift that perhaps no-one else will have.

Every piece of jewellery is handmade in my studio workshop in Sale, Cheshire. Every piece is unique (no mass production here!) and I take considerable time and care to ensure that your piece of jewellery is made to the highest standard.

I’m always happy to put a personal touch to your jewellery, be that with a particular gemstone option, a specific size length of chain, or a bespoke commission where you get to be involved in the design process.

If you like something that you can’t see for sale or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Click the link below to visit the shop.
